October: Websites, Weddings, and a Wicked Halloween.

October blog

Each month, I love sharing a behind-the-scenes glimpse into what Owl & Hare has been up to, along with a few personal highlights. October was packed with community work, spooky campaigns, and even a wedding! Let’s hop right in…

FROM THE OWL'S NEST 🦉

Listening to St Helens Community Voices

Our project with Citizens Advice St Helens (CASH) entered its next chapter as we kicked off face-to-face research. Visiting food banks and CASH drop-in sessions around St Helens has given us valuable insights and the chance to connect directly with the people who matter most to this service. Here’s to shaping the future of community support, together!

New Website, Who’s This?

After a few late nights and tweaks, we launched the new Owl & Hare website! It’s a work in progress (because, let’s face it, no website is ever truly “done”), but we’re thrilled to see it live. Let us know if you have any thoughts or feedback while you’re here!

Our Halloween Horror Film Campaign

Halloween brought out the creative in me! We launched a horror film themed campaign for Owl & Hare - because who says you can’t have a bit of fun with your brand? Let me know if you’ve caught any of our ads haunting your social feed; I’d love to know what you think!

Glowing Feedback

We received a lovely testimonial from Miguel Doforo at MD Productions and See You, See Me CIC this month! It’s always a privilege to work with such inspiring clients, and hearing how much he values our work was a fantastic boost. There's nothing quite like knowing that what we do truly makes a difference!

Social Value Masterclass

A Social Value Masterclass had me thinking deeply about impact. Owl & Hare’s belief in “business as a force for good” was echoed throughout, and it’s inspiring to meet others who care about people and the planet. Thank you to Bid Management Services Limited, St Helens Business Support Service & The Growth Company for such a valuable session!

A Month of Networking

This month, I had the chance to connect with some fantastic groups: real5 Networking St Helens (where I was thrilled to be named Member of the Month!), About the Town - Skelmersdale, and Power of Women Network in Ormskirk.

Oh and a personal networking highlight came, funnily enough, while getting highlights - a hilarious 121 with Jim Toohey at Salon on the Hill - got to make best use of my time when I'm busy! Big thanks to everyone who made these events such a pleasure.

121 at the hairdressers!

OFF THE CLOCK 🎃

My Sister Got Married!

The biggest personal highlight of October: my sister’s wedding in the beautiful Lake District, where I had the honour of being her maid of honour. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and even a bit of October sunshine — pure magic. Anna Hutchings (now Mrs Morris!) looked absolutely stunning and it's lovely to see two people so in love! We continued the celebrations a few days later with a local evening do, catching up with friends and family for even more joy!

Keeping Well

My 100 day no-drinking challenge continues to be a success, with one little exception for my sister’s wedding (hey, sometimes you’ve got to celebrate – I’m doing an extra day at the end to compensate!). Despite a bout of the dreaded autumn lurgy last week, I’m feeling stronger than ever thanks to clean eating, regular strength training, and online bootcamp. I’m back to running and loving it, with my energy levels up and my waistline down!

So Long and Goodnight Halloween

Halloween took me to The Krazyhouse for a fancy dress party, where I went as "Helena" (for fellow My Chemical Romance fans!). Even though I was sober and driving, once the rock and emo tunes started my inner party girl was very much alive and I sang and danced my heart out!

And, of course, we kept up the Halloween pumpkin-carving tradition at home - got to keep those evil spirits away!

Halloween fun!

That wraps up October’s highlights! Here’s to a November filled with new projects, new faces, and, as always, a sprinkle of magic. 🦉✨
